Structurmarine completed in January 2016 a series of tests to qualify the new Welding Procedure Quality Report (WPQR) for pulsed MIG aluminium welding to CSA W-47.2 Fusion Welding of Aluminium Company and CSA W-59.2 Welded Aluminium Construction.
The new Procedure Quality Report is an addition to previous conventional Spray Arc procedures used by Structurmarine since the beginning of its operations.
The new pulsed Metal Inert Gas (MIG) process provides ultimate quality welding while reducing welding time. The reduced welding fumes create a safer and healthier environment for the entire manufacturing crew.
Structurmarine selected Fronius TPS/i new intelligent processor equipment – the most advanced welding system in the world – and purchased a series of new complete units installed in the production lines for its aluminium floating pontoons, marine gangways and pedestrian bridges.
With the new equipment and process, Structurmarine expects to reduce its energy consumption by 10% and cleaning consumables & time by 50%.
Structurmarine is proud to announce its commitment to Perfect Welding – per Fronius justified advertising statement. Structurmarine’s Clients will benefit of stronger welded structures, greater weld quality and enhanced production schedule.
