Waterfront Marina
Bermuda
Structurmarine was selected to design and deliver a custom mooring and wave attenuation solution for a prestigious waterfront site in Bermuda, particularly exposed to the elements. The project accommodates vessels ranging from 100 to 150 feet while ensuring effective protection from wave action.
To meet the demanding sea conditions, with a maximum wave height of 2 feet and a 2-second period, a WRS-23 model wave reduction system was installed with a total length of 100 feet. With a width of 10 feet and a 56-inch deep submerged concrete skirt, the system achieves a wave transmission coefficient of 80%, providing a high level of comfort and safety for moored vessels.
The system was engineered to withstand wind speeds of up to 74 mph, equivalent to a Category 1 hurricane, and survival conditions with a significant wave height of 3.5 feet and a 3-second period, corresponding to a Category 3 hurricane.
The dock structure is built on our proven Structure 100 model, topped with Ipe hardwood decking that combines durability and elegance. This project showcases Structurmarine’s expertise in coastal engineering, delivering high-performance floating infrastructure adapted to the most challenging marine environments.
