At Structurmarine, innovation is deeply rooted in our DNA. While we’re well known for the durability and performance of our floating dock systems, we are currently advancing our development efforts with a dedicated research and development (R&D) initiative focused on a complementary solution: the fixed dock. The goal is to address specific use cases observed in the field, while upholding the same high standards of quality and engineering that define our company.
Over the years, we’ve successfully completed several projects involving fixed docks and hybrid solutions that combine fixed and floating sections. These projects have provided valuable insights into the situations where fixed docks are most effective—such as environments with minimal water level variation, where greater stability is required, or where anchoring floating systems proves difficult. Building on this experience, we are now formalizing our approach through a structured R&D process.
This process begins with a thorough needs analysis, conducted in collaboration with our field teams and clients, to clearly define the challenges to be addressed. This is followed by a feasibility study, where we assess the technical, environmental, and economic viability of the solution, ensuring it aligns with safety standards and project constraints.
Next comes the solution research phase, in which we explore multiple technical pathways: material selection, foundation systems, assembly techniques, and integration with existing infrastructures. Once the optimal approach is identified, our team develops a detailed design, including engineering models, shop drawings, and performance simulations. This leads to the creation of a prototype, tested under real conditions to validate the concept and identify improvements.
The following pre-series testing phase allows us to fine-tune production methods and ensure a smooth implementation. Finally, we establish a product monitoring system to support continuous improvement and long-term reliability, based on real-world feedback and performance data.
