INITIAL ASSESSMENT AND ANALYSIS
Start with a detailed inspection of existing facilities to assess their condition and identify renovation needs. Engage with current and potential users to define specific requirements and future development opportunities, while considering environmental, regulatory, and technical constraints.
DEFINING OBJECTIVES
Set functional goals to enhance safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency. Establish economic objectives to optimize profitability through efficient use of space and resources, and environmental goals to minimize ecological impact by adopting sustainable practices.
FINANCIAL PLANNING AND PERMITS
Estimate renovation costs, including materials, labor, and design fees. Identify possible funding sources such as public grants and private investments, and implement a financial management plan to control expenses and revenues throughout the project. Obtain permits from the relevant authorities.
DESIGN AND TECHNICAL PLANNING
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and maritime infrastructure consultants. Develop detailed plans for new facilities, considering technical, aesthetic, and functional aspects, and select durable, marine-appropriate materials.
PROCUREMENT AND TENDERING
Prepare detailed tender documents for contractors and suppliers. Evaluate submissions based on quality, cost, and experience, and negotiate clear and comprehensive contracts with selected contractors.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION
Establish a realistic timeline with key milestones to track progress. Ensure effective coordination among various trades and regularly monitor the work to ensure it meets plans and quality standards.
COMMUNICATION AND STEAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
Regularly inform marina users about progress and impacts of the works. Engage key stakeholders to gather feedback and manage expectations throughout the project.
TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
Conduct final inspections to ensure all work meets specifications. Test all new installations to ensure proper functionality, and train marina staff on the use and maintenance of the new facilities.
INAUGURATION AND POST-RENOVATION FOLLOW-UP
Organize an inauguration ceremony to mark the completion of the renovation and the reopening of the marina. Implement a regular maintenance plan to ensure the longevity of the new facilities, and gather user feedback to assess satisfaction and identify possible improvements.
