Located in Canandaigua, New York, a region known for its stunning lake landscapes and tranquil atmosphere, Town Harbour Island Docks is an innovative project designed for private and homeowners association (HOA) use. This marina introduces a distinctive approach to docks, anchoring, and configuration, facilitating simplified management and shared use among residents, creating a friendly and functional space for all.
Designed to accommodate boats ranging from 20 to 40 feet, the marina employs advanced techniques to maximize efficiency and visual impact. Dock anchoring utilizes integrated access ramps and push arms for optimal lateral docking and enhanced stability. We redefined traditional anchoring methods by removing existing foundation piles, allowing for the installation of eleven walkways, thereby securing floating docks and improving overall marina safety.
Given the marina’s presence around properties, we strategically used walkways as anchor points for floating docks, considering surrounding private lands. This approach not only ensures robust installation and optimizes dock space usage but also enhances the marina’s visual appeal by eliminating visible pilings, seamlessly integrating it into the surrounding landscape.
The choice of materials is crucial to the project's success. Composite wood decking was selected for its exceptional durability, weather resistance, and modern appearance, ensuring long-term structural integrity while reducing maintenance costs and environmental impact.
