FLOATING BRIDGE
GRANBY, QUEBEC, CANADA
The construction of a floating bridge 330’ long x 15’ wide for the city of Granby was carried out thanks to the technical qualities and strengths of Structurmarine. In addition to the ability to carry out the project at its plant, the local bad weather twelve months a year is well known to the team.
Designed for pedestrians and cyclists, a widened section is centrally located to allow for a rest area with benches and lighting. Municipal cleaning and snow removal service vehicles can also travel safely on this existing network, even in difficult winter conditions.
The handrails all along the floating bridge, overlooking the Yamaska River, for the safety of users as well as a Timbertech composite decking are durable materials. The complete installation, including the chain anchors and a dead man was carried out by a local contractor under the supervision of the Structurmarine site technician.
